When Passion Becomes Burnout: How to Turn Things Around Before It's Too Late

It's the stuff of legends - the professional sportsperson with the amazing catch, the adrenaline junkie who can't be stopped on the run, the fashionista with the hottest new look. Then there's the occasional fan who gets carried away and buys the biggest ticket, only to sit at the ticket window for a few minutes before fainting. Or the person who can't be caught on TV but keeps promising to show up that night. If it's the latter, it's safe to say you have a burning passion for TV and movies. But in this article, we will look at the other side of the coin, when passion becomes burnout.

You've hit the big time. You're a star. Your name is on billboards and TV screens around the world. But is it all that it was cracked up to be? Can you sustain the intensity of your addiction?

The Right Time

The truth is, when passion becomes burnout, you start to withdraw from people, alienate friends and family, and create a miserable existence for yourself. You find yourself unhappy, bored, and generally unhappy. Your life is drab and monotonous. You wonder how you will ever cope with your career and obligations without going broke. How can you get it all back together again?

A Cognitive Way

The answer is simple. All you need is a little magic wand. A magical and powerful wand, like the one your mum used to twirl around your head as you slept at night. The magic wand is called The Lasso and it can change your passion for life.

The Lesson works on two levels

Firstly, it redirects your passionate interest and attention from you to others. This is done by focusing your energy and attention away from yourself and onto others. In so doing, you become compassionate and sympathetic toward others - the very things you once resented and detested about yourself.

Secondly, by directing your passion and attention onto others, you begin to experience a new kind of bliss and pleasure - an exhilarating sense of purpose and achievement! It is an exhilarating feeling that lifts you out of the drudgery of your daily life and puts you in the capable position of being a creator, leader, and hero for your life. Suddenly, you see how easy it is to become the person you've always wanted to be.

Once you apply the magic wand and redirect your attention onto someone else, you automatically become their friend. They become your rescuer, your advocate, and your mediator. You become willing to walk your path and help you become the person you always wanted to be. Someone willing to take the long-term view and not act impulsively. Someone willing to set aside their selfishness and self-interest for the welfare of others.

Don't allow yourself to become another victim of the pain, frustration, and disappointment you experienced when passion became burnout. Don't prolong the inevitable by hoping that your feelings will go away. Instead, take immediate steps towards your new destiny by deciding to redirect your attention and passion into creating and experiencing the life you truly deserve.

The best way to accomplish this important change is to write down what it is you want from life and start planning on how you will get it. Decide what qualities and traits you need to develop to be successful in your new career and then find a way to identify a mentor (or two) who can teach you those things and become your role model. Identify a mentor in your industry. Maybe, your best friend or accountant. Maybe, a famous person or author.

When passion becomes burnout, your world seems to turn upside down and you are working in a different environment than you ever imagined. You can't enjoy any success or happiness because the path is so difficult. This is when you may feel like giving up. But, don't! Let go of the past and move forward.

Life can surprise us with the things that are available to us, especially when we are looking in the wrong places! Find yourself a mentor today and follow his lead. Follow their passions and become better people because of it. You have everything to gain!
